You're not just a small business

Web strategy4 min read

Most small businesses are running just fine in real life. They just never translated why they matter into a digital version, and the customers who'd care are now looking for exactly that.

Take Drew's Donuts. Drew is out here hand-decorating donuts into little soccer balls and basketballs, stitching and all. Real craft. People love the place. And then the website looks like it's still stuck in the 1970s, back when the newspaper was your digital footprint. The internet moved into this beloved space we all live in now. Drew's site never got the memo.

Same shop. Same donuts. One of these finally shows the craft.

And here's the thing. It's not Drew's fault. Most small businesses do way better on the physical front than the digital one. And it's not because they don't have a $50k agency behind them or a web designer on retainer. It's the grip of that expensive upfront cost. People pay a high price just to host their story on the interwebs, and it doesn't even translate. The sites I keep finding never carry the craftsmanship these businesses actually hold. Strong brand in person, digital brand nowhere to be found.

The business already had personality. The website simply needed to stop hiding it.

The difference is I'm the GPS that gets you to the destination. The arrow pointing to your site, to the audience you need and want, so you can keep being a hometown hero in your area.

I don't like jargon. I like to talk plain. So plainly: you're missing out, and I want to see your story finally look like you. So what can I actually do? We figure out the real questions first. Why do you want a website? Do you even need one? How much is it worth to you? And do you have the time to keep it up? Most small businesses can't run the shop and the site both. Unless that's their kind of thing.
